Description
Designed to enhance patient safety in medical settings, this graduated compression stocking is engineered to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and reduce mild non-arthritic oedema. Its innovative design includes a globally patented silicone Safety Sole, providing exceptional grip to minimize the risk of slips and falls, thereby eliminating the need for additional grip socks.
Key Features
-
Graduated Compression: Provides 16–20 mmHg pressure at the ankle, with compression extending up to the knee or thigh. This design complies with BS 7672:1993, BS 6612:1985, and ENV 12718:2001 standards, ensuring effective performance.
-
Patented Safety Sole: The silicone Safety Sole offers up to 6 times more grip on dry surfaces and up to 14 times more on wet surfaces, as tested by ASTM F1677-2005 standards.
-
Antimicrobial Fabric: Treated with UltraFresh antimicrobial agent, the fabric remains effective against >99.99% CFU of S. aureus even after 30 wash cycles.
-
Precision Construction: Features two-way stretch, seamless spiral knit, and precision-finished seams for comfort and even pressure distribution. Made from latex-free materials.
Sizing and Accessories
The stocking is available in a wide range of sizes from Small to XXX Large, with lengths in short, regular, and long. Each size is colour-coded for easy identification and comes with an applicator bag and tape measure to ensure correct application.
Intended Use
Ideal for use in hospitals and medical environments, this stocking serves as physical thrombosis prophylaxis for immobile patients before, during, and after surgery. It also aids in preventing post-operative and post-traumatic oedema and reduces the risk of falls in patients prone to slipping.
Contraindications
Not suitable for individuals with conditions such as dermatitis, gangrene, recent skin grafts, arteriosclerosis, massive leg oedemas, or extreme leg deformity. Proper sizing and application are crucial, and the stocking should not be bunched or turned down at the top.
Care Instructions
Wash at a maximum of 77°C and dry at a maximum of 127°C for 15–20 minutes. This ensures longevity and maintains the stocking's performance.
Compliance
The product meets Best Practice Guidelines for DVT prophylaxis in Australia and New Zealand and has been independently tested for compression and slip resistance. Its high-quality construction and adherence to international standards make it a reliable choice for healthcare professionals.
