The Mepilex Border Flex Lite Dressing by Mölnlycke Health Care is an advanced wound care solution designed for non- to moderately exuding wounds. Its innovative design includes a thin, highly conformable foam with a self-adherent border, making it suitable for a variety of wound types such as leg and foot ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and more. This dressing is particularly effective on challenging body contours, thanks to its unique 360° Flex Technology, ensuring it stays securely in place.

Key Features

• 360° Flex Technology: Provides multidirectional flexibility, allowing the dressing to conform to body movements. This reduces skin stress, enhances comfort, and ensures the dressing remains in place.

• Safetac® Technology: The soft silicone wound contact layer minimizes pain and trauma during dressing changes, protecting both the wound and surrounding skin. It also reduces the risk of maceration and skin damage.

• Four-Layer Construction:

• Wound Contact Layer: Gentle adherence for atraumatic removal.
• Spreading Layer: Distributes exudate effectively.
• Foam Layer: Absorbs and channels exudate away from the wound bed.

• Backing Film: Highly breathable and water-resistant, acting as a barrier against dirt, bacteria, and viruses while allowing moisture vapor transmission.

• Exudate Progress Monitor: A grid of dots on the backing film enables easy tracking of exudate spread without disturbing the wound.

• Showerproof: The water-resistant backing allows for showering without compromising the dressing's integrity.

Application Guidelines

• Cleanse and dry the wound area before application.
• Ensure the wound pad overlaps the wound by 1–2 cm.
• Smooth the borders without stretching.
• Can be left in place for up to 7 days, depending on wound condition.
• Change the dressing if necessary, based on exudate levels or signs of infection.

Precautions

• Not suitable for dry wounds.
• Avoid use if redness or sensitivity occurs.
• Do not use with oxidizing agents or skin barrier films.
• Consult a clinician for use on ischemic lower legs or feet.
