Application Guidelines

• Preparation: Cleanse the wound thoroughly before application and consider using a skin barrier. Ensure a 1–3 cm overlap onto intact skin for secure adherence.
• Adherence: Smooth and warm the dressing to enhance adherence, and gently peel laterally during removal to minimize trauma.
• Monitoring: Change the dressing if leakage, wrinkling, or edge lifting occurs. An odor upon removal is normal and not indicative of infection.

Precautions

DUODERM XTHIN should not be used on third-degree burns, wounds with moderate to large exudate, or untreated clinically-infected wounds. It is also contraindicated for individuals with known sensitivity to its components. The dressing should remain unused if the package is open or damaged.

Storage and Packaging

Store the dressing at room temperature in a dry place. It is typically supplied in boxes containing 10 or 20 dressings, varying by size. Proper storage ensures the sterility and effectiveness of the product, contributing to optimal wound care outcomes.
