Description
The COMP/PRO TH OT L is an advanced Domestic Hot Water (DHW) heat pump appliance designed to efficiently heat potable water. Utilizing a sophisticated heat pump system, it extracts heat from the surrounding air, providing an energy-efficient solution for maintaining water temperature.
Design and Structure
This appliance features a sectional design with a heat pump drive unit in the upper section and a specially enamel-coated DHW cylinder in the lower section. The design ensures durability and long-term performance, with corrosion protection provided by a maintenance-free impressed current anode. This anode is powered by rechargeable NiMH batteries, ensuring continuous protection even during power outages.
Temperature Management
Equipped with dual temperature sensors, the COMP/PRO TH OT L maintains precise control over water temperature. The system automatically activates heating when the average temperature falls below the set point. An electric emergency heater provides additional support, ensuring water temperature remains consistent. The default temperature is set above 61°C, offering reliable hot water supply.
Defrost and Frost Protection
The appliance includes active hot gas defrosting for the evaporator and frost protection features, making it suitable for various climates. These functions activate at specific temperatures to prevent freezing, ensuring uninterrupted operation.
Operational Efficiency
The unit is designed for optimal operation with specific timing protocols, including minimum on and off periods. It should not be switched more than ten times per day, enhancing longevity and performance. Condensate management is facilitated through standard accessories, with additional options available for challenging installation environments.
External Control and Safety
The COMP/PRO TH OT L offers external control capabilities, allowing integration with systems like photovoltaic (PV) setups. It includes comprehensive safety features such as boil-dry protection, pressure limiters, and motor overload relays. Proper installation with suitable isolators and earthing is essential for safe operation.
Installation Requirements
Installation should be conducted in a dry, well-ventilated area, free from corrosive substances. The appliance must be stored and installed vertically, with specific guidelines for horizontal transport if necessary. Water connections require approved materials, and insulation is recommended for the DHW line and valves.
Maintenance and Use
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the casing, grilles, and evaporator, descaling the heater, and ensuring clear condensate drains. Battery replacement for the anode should be considered every three years if power interruptions are common. Only qualified professionals should handle installation and maintenance to ensure compliance with operational standards.
Restrictions
The COMP/PRO TH OT L is intended solely for heating potable water and should not be used with other refrigerants or with the casing open. Continuous power connection is crucial to prevent frost and corrosion, emphasizing the need for professional oversight in its management.
