Description
The 20Fr MIC-KEY Low Profile Balloon Gastrostomy Feeding Tube is expertly crafted for patients requiring long-term enteral feeding, medication delivery, or gastric decompression. Designed by Kimberly-Clark / Avanos Medical, this innovative device serves both pediatric and adult patients who cannot tolerate oral feeding or need nutritional support.
Key Features
-
Low-Profile Design: This gastrostomy tube sits flush against the skin, offering comfort and discretion. Its design minimizes the risk of accidental dislodgement and allows for easy concealment under clothing.
-
Balloon Retention Mechanism: The tube is secured in place by an inflatable internal retention balloon, which should be filled with sterile or distilled water. This feature ensures stability and safety.
-
Medical Grade Silicone: Constructed from high-clarity, biocompatible silicone, the tube is soft, latex-free, and not made with natural rubber latex or DEHP.
-
ENFit® Connector System: Provides secure, standardized connections for extension sets and syringes, reducing the risk of misconnections.
-
SECUR-LOK* Connector: Ensures secure attachment with a lock-and-key style mechanism, minimizing unintentional disconnects.
-
Radiopaque Stripe: Allows for visualization and confirmation of placement under imaging.
-
Anti-Reflux Valve: Prevents leakage of stomach contents when not in use.
Additional Features
- Tapered, Recessed Distal Tip: Enhances safety and comfort during insertion.
- Multiple Feeding Exit Ports: Facilitates efficient delivery of nutrition and medication.
- External Retention Ring/Base: Sits slightly above the skin to secure the tube externally.
- MR Conditional: Safe for MRI under specified conditions.
